Magic of Thailand Festivals
We got involved with providing the stage and sound for these festivals in June 2018 when we answered an advert for a stage. These festivals have been running for over 5 years and across the country currently in 10 locations. They are really well attended and operate over a whole weekend with a full stage line up starting with Buddhist Monks blessing the festival, and finishing with traditional Thai singers.
The event organiser was really happy with our set up and had many comments from the performers that the sound was really good so we approached her about doing more stages and enquired about marquee hire as well. She wanted a far bigger stage than we had, so we decided to invest in a new stage to hire, a bigger one and PA set up, on the back of some promised work at the end of the season. Adam designed us a stage and we set about raising the money and buying the trussing that we needed. We used Kustom Covers to make us a roof and sides from some badly drawn images we had put together. They did an amazing job and it all fitted brilliantly.
We did three more festivals with the new stage in 2018 and were then booked for all 10 in 2019, which was a great result for us. As part of our packaging we provide the stage, 4 foot platform, runway, lighting, and 2 generators to power our system (we like to play things safe!).
We have since bought mesh back and sides for the stage and can make it lower in the event of heavy wind. We are now able to offer it as a 7.5m wide stage as well as the 10.5m it currently is, which will make it more adaptable to venues and gives us another option for our inflatable dome stages when wind speeds reach the maximum. Trussing stages are far more resistant to wind than inflatables which is a plus side, but the downside is that they do take longer to put up and take down. We usually set ours up the day before the event and remove the day afterwards although it can be done in the evening if time and light permits. For anyone interested in seeing more, please click on the video below!
