Andy & Clare’s Wedding

Last December in a cold wet field I met Andy and his wife to be to discuss their vision for their wedding in summer 2019. When it came to the marquee hire milton keynes, We ran through the various options, sizes, and what they wanted to do with the amazing space they had been provided. We decided on a 12x12m marquee with a 6x3m side extension for the caterers. We provided the generators for the event, heating, lighting, and a dancefloor to the barn where they planned to have the entertainment. This was the first time using our new dancefloor which is made from reclaimed wood and we had stripped and re-lacquered. It has a really warm rustic feel to it and was perfect for the barn.

We lined the marquee with pleated drapes and floored it with astro turf. We think it looked great sat among the wild grass in the meadow so we decided against a carpet runway and they cut a pathway instead and kept it looking more natural. Sometimes you need to rethink things and come up with alternatives. If we think something will look bad, or is a waste of money, we will tell you, its not just a job to us, it really is our passion and we want every detail to be perfect.

We recommended a local band to Andy and Clare called ‘The Band Isabelle’. They used to rehearse in our studio, and we know them quite well, and have seen them play many times. They are a brilliant band at any wedding and they did a fantastic job of filling the dance floor. Using a band also meant they didn’t need to use a separate DJ as well. Most bands can play music through their PA system during their breaks so is worth considering if you plan to book a band. Do you need the added expense on top of a DJ? You can quite easily set a playlist up for yourself on a tablet or phone which can be connected using an aux lead.
